11/20/2003 - Suspension Bushing Install

Installing the new nylon bushings was much easier than removing the old bushings. To press them in, I used a piece of 1/2" threaded rod with 3 large fender washers (from the front upper A-arm bolts). This would pull the new bushings about 90% of the way into the arm journal (until the small side came up against the washer). At this point I placed them in the vice, using a washerto protect the bushing face, and 2 sockets to press against the arm. It took quite a bit of force to put them the last little bit, but they go. I used a jack handle to make the job easy. I have not installed the pins all the way because I need to lube them, and I may install zerk-fittings.
